HOW TO GET TO MARTHA'S VINEYARD
Martha’s Vineyard is an island located seven miles off the coast of Massachusetts. The only way to get here is by ferry or by air. Once on the island, visitors can get around by car, bike, or public transportation. The island has several rental car companies, as well as bike rental shops and a public bus system called the Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA).
By Ferry: The most common way to get to Martha's Vineyard is by ferry. There are several ferry companies that operate both year-round and seasonal service to the island. Ferries depart from several ports on the mainland, including Woods Hole, New Bedford, and Falmouth.
A daily, year-round passenger and car ferry service between Woods Hole, MA, and Martha’s Vineyard; to Vineyard Haven (year-round); to Oak Bluffs (seasonal).
Reservations: Advance vehicle reservations are required and can be booked online, or by calling (508) 477-8600. Passengers traveling to Martha’s Vineyard without a vehicle may purchase tickets online or at the terminal on the day of sailing.
Parking: Parking is not available dockside at the Woods Hole terminal. Off-site parking is available with a complimentary shuttle service between the lot and the pier.

Reservations: Advance reservations are recommended especially for travel during the peak summer season. Reservations can be made online, over the phone, or in one of the ticket offices.

A seasonal Passenger Ferry between Falmouth, MA, and Edgartown.
Reservations: Reservations are not required but are suggested to ensure space onboard.
Parking: Valet parking is provided onsite.

A seasonal high-speed passenger ferry service between Hyannis, MA, and Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs.

Private Boat: Visitors can also reach Martha's Vineyard by private boat. There are several marinas and harbors on the island that offer docking and mooring services.
By Air: Martha’s Vineyard has a small airport, Martha's Vineyard Airport (MVY), which is served by several regional airlines.
