77 Cooke Street

Built in 1784 by Reverend Joseph “Parson” Thaxter, First Chaplain of the
Revolutionary War and the town’s longtime minister, this storied residence has
anchored the island’s history for more than two centuries. Today, it has been
meticulously restored and thoughtfully updated to a one-of-a-kind Vineyard
experience, blending heritage, elegance, and comfort in the heart of downtown.

Every detail has been designed with groups and gatherings in mind. Each of the
five main house bedrooms is complete with king-size beds, fireplaces, and ensuite baths.

The open great room flows seamlessly from a chef’s kitchen to a
sun filled living area overlooking the pool, creating the perfect setting for shared
meals, celebrations, and quiet moments alike. The separate game room above the garage
features a lounge, billiards, and wet bar.  

Outdoors, the private resort setting comes alive. A heated pool and spa capture
